Jardim da Estrela
Named Guerra Junqueiro Garden, it was initially called 'The Star Promenade’, it is known today as Jardim da Estrela (Star Garden). It was built in the mid-nineteenth century in an English romantic style, using the ground topography to structure the garden in a creative way, including winding paths, lakes, waterfalls, statues, busts and a cave. It has a bandstand in wrought iron that was once the stage of Philharmonic concerts. Today is the stage of other events such as outdoor film festivals or jazz concerts. It has two terraces, large lawns used for family picnics and a large playground.
