Largo do Chiado, 16 -171200-108 Lisboa
The origin of this historic house dates back to 1822, when José Pinto Leitão founded in Porto an establishment where he worked in gold in front of his customers, producing traditional filigree pieces, traditional earrings known as arrecadas, the Viana hearts, chains and medallions, with such a quality that his creations became nationally renowned. After being awarded the title of "goldsmith of the Imperial House of Brazil" in 1887, Leitão & Irmão (already managed by the sons of the founder) opens a store in Lisbon, Chiado, and soon after, King Luís I awards them the title of "crown jewellers".
Today, the quality and creativity remain premises of this almost 200 years house. Their goldsmith workshop in Bairro Alto is the oldest in Portugal and continues to manufacture pieces of extraordinary beauty and unique character. Leitão & Irmão provides a wide range of customer services, including the bespoke manufacture and custom made engagement rings, jewellery, cutlery, tableware and other pieces in silver, as well as the maintenance and restoration of antique pieces.
